2-3 tanks 5 healers range/melee as even as possible
All melee on the boss fulltime with the exception of 2 rogues to handle shielded Adherents. Have ~2 ranged assigned to each alcove that an Adherent spawns (and 2 ranged for the add that pops on the stairs. Adjust position to avoid Death & Decay. If there are adds alive, dps should be on them. Assist the side opposite you if there are still adds up there.
Bloodlust at Phase2.
Shadow resist & Frost resist.
CC anyone who is MC'd. have assigned CCers
When there are adds, ALL DPS burn them down. Then go back on Boss.
Priority list: Empowered/Deformed mobs (very dangerous) Adherents (Interrupt / Death Grip closer if needed) Fanatics (tanked) [they cleave] Ranged should blow up their assigned Adherent above all else. And then kill any Fanatics that are alive with Deformed taking precedence.
Phase 2: fan out, 3 tanks, dedicated interrupters. Let tanks get agro lead. Stay spread out, run from the Vengeful Spirit. This is a pain I know. But you have to keep an eye out for them.
She's also going to resurrect fallen adds. Resurrected melee mobs need to be killed by the casters and resurrected caster mobs need to be killed by the melee.
Also as Nick said, Empowered mobs need to die asap and whoever has threat must kite it. These will hit a tank for over 90% of their health. No one else even stands a chance.
Interrupts on phase 2 are going to have to be much smoother than we saw on General Vezax. Be prepared for that please.
A smooth transition from phase 1 to phase 2 is going to be helpful as well. Let's try to time this as a wave of adds dies.
Also in phase 2, the tank will be getting a stacking debuff that reduces threat, so those interrupts really need to be on point. We can not afford to be losing tanks.
This is going to be the make it or break it fight for us right now.
As we found out last night, a good mix of ranged & melee is pretty much required for the adds.
Interrupters for Phase 2 is essential.
The Deranged Fanatics can 1 shot a tank, so they need to be kited. Preferably by a ranged dps.
We had the shield down to about 12% in our last attempt with Vordin as Prot, Blackmail, Me, & Hendu as melee, Mori & Blood on Heals, Verty, Joe, Mirielle, and Jovi on ranged. So having 3 'real' melee will make this much easier.
All dps burn the adds, then switch to boss when adds are down.
I would recoomend enhancement shaman use windfury on both weapons for this one.
I'm pretty sure Flametongue and Lava lash are magic damage. Stormstrike is cool though.
Interesting idea Lead. I looked into it as I havent actually read the skills word for word in some time, but the way LL reads is as follows;
You charge your off-hand weapon with lava, instantly dealing 100% off-hand Weapon damage. Damage is increased by 25% if your off-hand weapon is enchanted with Flametongue.
and FT reads;
Imbue the Shaman's weapon with fire, increasing total spell damage by 211. Each hit causes 89 to 274 additional Fire damage, based on the speed of the weapon. Slower weapons cause more fire damage per swing. Lasts 30 minutes.
So you are half correct in the kind of damage that is caused by these 2 abilities. I will keep using LL as part of the priority system but will switch to WF as the off-hand weapon enchant to avoid the kick-back on FT damage to myself, not that it really hits that hard per swing, but trying the haste kick I'm on, I'll take the advice and go for the dual WF. I can always pop FT back on when we get past the mana shield. Great theorycrafting, Lead!
Faerie Fire hit the Adherents fine. I might have missed a patch note about FF being switched to melee hit though.
With our 2 melee (plus me), it was pretty essential to have the melee sitting on the spawn point of one of the Adherent to burn it down.
Most of fight was pretty trivial. The big problem came when an Adherent became Empowered. Then he just started one-shotting people. So I'd say melee stay off the boss unless there is plenty of time to run up smack her shield around some, and then get to the Adherent spawn point. ******************************************************
For the 25-man, there will be either 3 or 4 Adherents depending on what spawns on the stairs. There will always be 1 from the left side, and 2 from the right side. So left side melee should kill theirs, and then move to the one that Runesteel DGs from the stairs. Right side should start at the alcove farthest from the boss, and then move to the one nearest the boss. If the left side doesn't have one from the stairs, they can help the right side. Basically, melee kill Adherents above anything else. If there's a Deformed Fanatic and you have a snare effect, use it when no Adherents are alive. That's pretty much your entire job while we learn this fight.
Casters meanwhile ignore Adherents entirely. Kill any Fanatics, then nuke the boss. Pay attention to DBM and the raid announcements. If she Reanimates a Fanatic, kill it, then back to the boss.
Phase 2: Tanks stack, kite her from D&D so melee can beat on her. Ranged stay somewhat spread to minimized D&D movement. Melee make sure she never gets off a cast. RUN from the ghosts. WIN.
It might be beneficial to do a dry run, where no one does any DPS to the boss at all. This will help with getting the timing and positioning of the adds down.
Rogue: Posions + FoK = summabitch Thunder: umm..ouch Mage: I wish MY Mage could cast Arcane Blast immediately after Arcane Barrage Shaman: With 4 Fanatics up, that Bloodlust kinda hurt.
Best MC targets?
Tree: oohh look... i'm healing the boss for 0 health. can't think of any other 'good' ones...
I know I said it last night, but I'll say it again. Great Job, Nick on calling the audible for the strat change. We saw immediate progression on the first attempt and progressed to an eventual boss kill. This boss basically went down on our first 'real' night in there. I know of other guilds that spent weeks on Lady D before taking her out. (kinda like us w/Lord M).
And the only reason we didn't kill her the first time we tried that was because we had no idea how fast you guys were burning her shield. When I glanced at her to check i was expecting to see her at around 30-35%. When I saw the shield was at 106k, I was like " OMG...."
We ended up killing her with almost 2 minutes left to enrage. Browsing through some other logs shows that Guilds with almost full Heroic gear barely do that.
