Not to be a party-pooper, but it IS kind of a big deal. We really need some kind of plan to manage the adds.
Whether it's having them all agro one or two people, having 2 dps assigned to each one, or assist macros and cc on the 'loose' ones. Having 4 beasts take off towards the right side, with one dps on each will just not work. The Blood Power gain from getting hit by beasts is too high.
Yes it is a big deal. What I really meant is that solving the problem tomorrow won't be a big deal. (At least it shouldn't be)
Last night was the first time I ever had any issues with healing aggro on the beasts, so whatever was being done last week for the beasts needs to be done again this week. Obviously something got left out of the equation last night.
Bad group placement may be a big part of the problem. For example, elemental shamans and boomkins should be on opposite sides for obvious reasons. Also, like I said in vent last night, the east side was light on dps. This is probably why they were all going in one direction... while the other two beasts would just go strait for me or Vordin....
Not kiting was kind of my bad, but if I find myself having to kite when I'm pretty far back, then we have a bigger problem.

That would be my fault. I gave ranged DPS very vague instructions ie left or right. The key to this fight will be ranged DPS placement. The diagram below is a great starting point for which we can then modify according to the raid makeup.
There was some discussion in raid chat/ventrilo last Tuesday about me healing near the door. As I don't see raid chats/ventrilo as a place for me to argue or explain, I've put it here in the forum. (NOTE: I am not "arguing" to go back there, I'm merely explaining. I'll go where I'm placed, but I'm highly uncomfortable healing in from the melee group in this fight).
First, I was placed at the door last week. Raid instructions were to resume the postions/assignments you had in the prior week. We downed Saurfang when I was standing next to the door.
At that position I don't have many concerns about adds. Generally I can see them and fade before they can reach me. When I fade at that position I typically don't have to worry about killing another squishy.
I can not recieve heals at that postion, but I can effectly heal myself when boiled (generally the only damage I take). For the most part I kept myself alive with the mark (as I was not instructed to suicide myself or move to a cannon). If I get the mark I expect to be given the suicide command, so healing me through it really should not be a raid priority.
I did die at that position but as I recall I was trying to heal myself to keep from dying from the mark...didn't get the heal off in time to fade and a beast one shotted me...he didn't need to do much damage to kill me though, like 1k.
Also note, at that position, I can only effectively heal/shield the melee/tanking units, as I'm out of range of other units.
In summary, I'm comfortable healing from that position, but I will not return to it unless instructed.
There was a few pulls prior to downing the boss where we had folks back there. As I recall, we had everyone get out of there. We'll have to be more clear next time.
I saw 2 beasts attacking you and you died. Not sure if it was the mark + beast that got you. You were pulling aggro there and out of range of heals.
I think it's better positioning to be out with the range.

Tried modifying the pic to be more SoS specific. 1 Hunter, lotsa ranged...
All dps on the left side assist the Assist#1, all dps on the right assist #2. The Boomkin and Hunter in the middle control the other 3 adds (+ Hammer every other spawn if needed)until they are picked up by deeps.
91k health on a beast + 4 ranged on it, = very dead. Switch to next, = very dead. Last beast has 8+ dps trying to kill it = smear.
Main Assists on each side target one on their side and all other dps on their side use a /assist <name> macro so they are all on the same target. Main Assists can even add a Mark to the current focus target(s)
