I just viewed the WoL from the Late group and it seems you guys were able to keep going a bit longer then us. How did you have everyone positioned Thunderhorne?

That came with all the practice.

Basically, we all stand behind the boss right under ass except for Rune. When the boss turns to face us, we run thru him to get behind him and avoid being hit with the slime spray.

When we have to merge slimes, we run out to get it done as quick as we can the get back behind the boss ASAP. The more time you spend out in the field, the more likely you are to faceplant.

Our last attempt was our best attempt seeing him at 500k health. We had Coffs go dps and two healed. The healing was a lot harder, but for the most part manageable (as long as everyone does what they need to in a timely manner).
All it takes is one person to run the wrong way and send the proverbial tower crashing down.

A few people still need to learn how to avoid the unstable slime explosion.

Very nice kiting perspective!

Note that the kiter runs through the slime with impunity, almost never faces the slime directly, and stays near the walls.

Also note that they were cleansing as soon as the infected person got out of melee range and letting the person drag the little slime over to the big one.

2 heals should be enough, since most (aka..all?) of our wipes were from either a dead OT or a big slime in melee.

Is there a macro that can be setup to target the infected then dispel?

Decursive. There's no reason to change targets when healing since all heals and dispels can be cast on anyone while targetting anything else. Actually targetting someone else to cast on them just slows down your casting. What addons do you use for healing? Most can be configured for 'decursive-like' abilities also.

Slowing the slime down.

Small oozes, yes. Big oozes, no.

Pipe Slime.

Kite tank should basically ignore the pipe slime, and no one else should be near it unless they are running a little slime to the big one. Everyone except the kite tank and the odd Hunter should be in melee range.

More info on this fight. (mostly copied from hunter post on Wow.com)

Avoid getting slime sprayed. One way to gauge your performance on this fight is to see how much Slime Spray damage you took. You want that number to be zero.

Be aware of where the kiter is at all times. When you get the Mutated Infection you don't want to waste any time trying to figure out where your kiter is.

When you get Mutating Infection, MOVE toward the kiter. Your goal here is to get rid of your ooze as quickly as possible and return to the center.

Remember to continue dps on Rotface while you're dealing with your infection and ooze. (When possible)

Kiting:

Do not ever let it get too close to you. The Big Ooze is perfectly capable of two-shotting you.

Do not get too far away. Since you're going in circles, the farther you get the more "corners" the Big Ooze can cut, and it can and will cut through the center of the room, hitting the raid with its aura.

You will have to kite through the ooze flooded portions of the room at times. Do not try to switch directions. Your healers can deal with it.

Jovi, in answer to your question on my assignments, for the first attempt at rotface I was assigned to dispels. My previous question on the diseases was based on that experience. I'd like to understand all the healer roles in a particular fight whether or not I'm doing them myself as it helps me anticipate what another healer may or may not do, or what I may need to pick up if another healer dies.

The question in slows was asked in a previous posting here and nobody responded to the question. I at least expected someone to say "of course they can't be slowed you idiot." (That last sentence was intended to be humorous).

As for where I stand, I found it alot easier for me to heal, when I was not stacked with the groups in the center. As I recall, I was healing both the main tank and the off-tank, plus shielding disease victims when able. As I was typically the last healer to die, my not being stacked in the center didn't seem an issue, so I maintained my distance, as I believe the reason for stacking is mainly avoid the room flooding. I have nearly the highest resolution set in the game, but I find it hard to tell when that dude is facing me and spewing (mostly because of my screen/raid setup which requires me to view him out of the corner of my eye). Lead's idea may work for me, where I can see the motion of the group to know when to move. Generally, if I'm always in motion, I find dodging to be easier if that makes any sense.

Nick I don't use decursive. I tried it for awhile when doing Kara, but could never figure out how it worked. I target players flagged with magic/disease and cast the appropriate removal spell then switch targets.
