Primary: [Guides]
Secondary: None

25-man: 62.5M health
10-man: 18M health

Abilities:

Shroud of Shadow : 3000 (4500) shadow damage every 3 seconds to the raid. Standard Aura damage to the raid that needs to be healed through.

Blood Mirror : person nearest the MT takes the same damage. (Makes this a 2 tank fight)

Delirious Slash : bleed DoT on the OT

Pact of the Darkfallen : standard pairing up effect. Get to the person(s) that your linked to to stop damage.

Swarming Shadows : Like Jarraxas Legion Flame but instead of green flames, it's all purple shadowy type stuff. Run away pooping shadows.

Twilight Bloodbolt : Hits the target and anyone within 6' of them. It's the "Spread Out" mechanic.

Bloodbolt Whirl : During air phase, these fly around to everyone, and cast Twilight Bloodbolt (like above) #1 cause of wipes.

Vampiric Bite, Essence of the Vampyr Queen, Frenzied Bloodlust, Uncontrollable Frenzy : This is the 'cool' part of the fight, and I'll explain it below.

Strategy:

Overall a very cool fight. The Fear sucks, but tremor / ward helps.
2 tanks stack. None of the damage she does seems resistable.

Stay spread out! Melee split into 3 groups and stack tight so you don't spread it to other melee. (ala Kelthuzad)

3 people get linked by Pact. Get together. Like Brain Link on Yogg, or the opposite of Shahraz.

At 2:24 she'll fear the raid and fly in the air. Bloodbolt Whirl wwill start spamming, and any groups of 3+ people within 6' of each other will almost certainly die. Spread out! She'll do the fear + Fly thing again at around 4 minutes.

Vampyr stuff:

25-man it's every 60 seconds, 10-man it's every 75 seconds.

Here's how it works. 15 seconds into the fight, she will bite someone. If that person dies, she will bite someone else. 60 (75) seconds after that person is bitten, they need to bite someone else. Being bitten gives you 100% damage, no threat, and you heal every time you do damage. So it's an awesome DPS buff. As such, our highest dps should be the first people bitten.

If you're bitten by a raid member, it's the same deal. 60 seconds later you need to bite someone else. There are strat talks where people suicide, and get brezzed and such, but screw that.
You have 15 seconds to bite someone after the 60 (75)

Breakdown is:

15 secs: 1
1 min 20 sec: 2
2 min 25 sec: 4
3 min 30 sec: 8
4 min 45 sec: 16
5 min 20 sec: Enrage Timer

First person bitten is random, and then it's up to us. For example, first person should go bite Hendu after 60 (75) seconds. Then Hendu and 1st person should go bite Angry and Joeman. then those 4 shoud go bite Jovion, Shiv, Killa, Feel. Then those 8 should bite the remaining dps before healers. Then we pop Bloodlust.

So summary.
Stay spread out.
If you get linked, stack with the others that are linked until damage stops.
Run away if you get Swarming,
bite someone within 15 seconds of getting hungry or you mega-fail.
When you get feared, absolute #1 priority is to spread out.
Looking forward to it!

Sounds chaotic. I like it!

I look forward to doing this once we get Festergut down. And Rotface. And Professor Putricide.

We have a much better shot at going to Crimson Halls before Plagueworks.

Personally, I would much rather do the harder stuff first and get it out of the way. For me, that's a great confidence builder. No matter how long it takes, as long as we learn it and get it done. Progression isn't made by taking the easier way out. It's made by fighting through the things that go wrong and being patient. It's like when people in Halls of Reflection want to do the gauntlet by killing the mobs from behind. It's not any harder to do it the regular way, but people think the other way is easier so they chump out. I don't like to chump out. But that's just me I guess.

I agree with you in concept. Festergut is a gear check though. We don't meet that check yet. So we can spend time farming ToC or we can get gear from Crimson Halls and maybe from Rotface.

For BQL, we can make the fight hypothetically easier by letting someone die (or at least it was before the nerf). That is just cheesing it and not our style. Even with Marrowgar, where we all stack under his ass, is a bit of a cheese, but it has it's own risks (higher tank damage, more raid damage if they stay clumped during Storm, if a Hunter snoozes and gets spiked away he's at higher risk) , it was confirmed by Blizz as 'working as intended', and we learned the fight initally the 'traditional" way. So for a farming technique, it is fine.

Next week when all of ICC is open does it really matter which order we kill stuff in?

/bump for strat check
